So far, it appears that 2013 is presenting me with wave after wave of trouble. Parts of our house was destroyed by gale force winds which required renovation. The fencing people did a less than decent job and took 2 months to fix their mistakes. The painters caused us an absolutely nightmare as they broke many many things, and did such a terrible job painting that none of the bathroom doors close anymore. They also ruined the carpet which meant we had to get all the carpets relayed. The day after the carpets were finished, our house was robbed. 

And just when I thought I had learned my lesson- just when I thought God was done teaching me to forgive and love, another wave hits me. A huge traffic jam caused me to miss an important meeting, thereby threatening my ability to graduate on time/ and my enrollment. And these are only the bigger things, let's not mention difficulties with my health, relationships and finances. 

I have to admit, I was pretty bitter for a while. I harbored bitter thoughts against those who would go out of their way to make my life miserable. But God was slowly changing me, he taught me to apologize for my rude behaviour towards these people who have caused havoc on my life. And I didn't even realise how poisoned my heart had been. But I was given an opportunity to lead bible study last night, it was about Love Luke 6: 27-42 . For we are children of God. We are told to first love God with everything, then second, to love our neighbors as ourselves. And this love is not just with actions but also with our attitudes. I am extremely humbled by my circumstances. 

Hopefully, I can sing out the battle cry - we won't be shaken- when the next wave hits, for I know Jesus never promised that our lives here on earth would be smooth, but he promised to be with us during these storms.
