Broken Hallelujah

What if we lost everything. How would we respond? Can we worship, while we are in pain?

I want to be able to bring worship to the lord especially during these times of pain. It's a new low each time. Ever layer of my pride being slowly stripped away. This year, in it's 2 months, has already been such a trial for me. Having to sell off my possessions, having to skip meals because I didn't have money to put food on the table, having to accept that things won't be done according to my timing, being chased for deadlines, having people desert and disappoint me. It's been tough. There has been tears. But I know God is using these difficult experiences to really peel the old me away.

Life is beautiful :D

I woke up this morning to find out I won an Aurora bangle from Trollbeads Australia. I never appreciated glass beads until I visited the Tacoma Glass Museum in the United States last year and watched the master and his team making a masterpiece together.

The glass elements were heated and poked at, heated and rolled around, heated and blown, heated and rubbed. After hours and hours of this continued shaping, changing and evolving, the final product was born. It was spectacular, all the onlookers gave a roar.

It gave me a brand new appreciation of glass artwork. Without the fire, the heat, the rubbing, the rolling, the poking, the artwork would have never been so beautiful. At the same time, we have to realize that Life is Beautiful because there are births, there is laughter, there is peace and dancing. Life is also beautiful because of hardships, tears. Because on the other side of hardships, we are evolving into something more beautiful.

Movie Review: October Baby (2011)

Movie Summary: October baby is one girls' journey to search for who she really is. Along the way, she deals with trust, forgiveness and love.

My thoughts: This is a beautifully shot film and a tear jerker. The song track was absolutely amazing and really drew us into the story. It's suitable for young adults +. It's also a good conversation opener for issues of abortion and forgiveness. We follow along as the main character discovers more about her past than she could fathom. And a core theme in the movie revolves around forgiveness. How can we forgive those that have caused us so much pain? A trip can't fix it. But if God has forgiven us so much, what is stopping us from forgiving others?
