Forgetting is a choice

Our God is an awesome God he reigns from the heavens above with wisdom. Can you trust a God who can't remember what happened yesterday? Can you trust in a God that can forget all the things that you have done for him? Our God does NOT forget. His brain is so awesome, so amazing that he knows everything that has happened since the beginning of time.
Instead God chooses not to remember our sins. He chooses to forgive us of our wrongdoings, how we have disappointed him. "I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake;  and I will not remember your sins" (Isaiah 43:25 Heb. 8:1210:17). Jesus told us to forgive as the Father has forgiven us (Eph. 4:32)
God chooses to remember our good works, the things we do to further His kingdom.
It's easy to forgive, it's hard to forget. And we can TRY to do the same. Some things/people may have given us physical and emotional pain; the world's advice may be to forgive to forget. But the more we try to deliberately forget something to more it stays in our minds.   Instead, why not make a concious decision to make good use of my brain juice? Why can't we choose to remember other things.

Make a concious decision to not remember those that have wronged us. Instead, make a concious decision to pray for them and to love them as a neighbour. Jesus prayed for those who had nailed him on the cross. He showed compassion for those who persecuted him. He not only forgave, he choose not to remember their wrongs but choose to love and care for their needs.

We are called to love those around us. How can you love those who have hurt you today?
